Who this page is for
For ecommerce copywriters, marketplace sellers, merchandising teams, and independent retailers revising product detail pages while keeping specifications, variant details, and substantiated claims intact.
Start with a verified product brief
Before rewriting, separate fixed facts from flexible wording. Fixed facts include dimensions, materials, capacity, compatibility, care instructions, warranty terms, and package contents. Flexible wording includes sentence structure, transitions, and the order of benefits. Work from the current manufacturer specification sheet or an approved internal record, not a competing store’s listing. Flag contradictions instead of choosing whichever claim sounds more persuasive. If the title says stainless steel but the specifications identify only a steel lid, resolve that before publishing. Keep certifications and test claims tied to their original supporting references; a smoother sentence must not broaden what the evidence establishes.
Replace sales language with purchase-relevant detail
Humanizing product copy means making its usefulness easier to understand. Replace phrases such as “elevate your everyday experience” with a concrete feature and a supported benefit. A removable basket may make serving easier; it does not automatically make a device safer or faster. Lead with the information shoppers need to compare options, then explain distinctive details. Keep a natural product keyword where it helps identification, rather than repeating it in every sentence. For apparel, prioritize fit and fabric; for electronics, compatibility and power requirements; for furniture, assembled dimensions and delivery constraints. Avoid inventing sensory details that require handling the item.
Review the rewrite as a buying decision
Submit a draft with clear instructions: preserve every specification, retain exclusions, and do not add performance claims. Use the Standard-mode result as an editable draft rather than approved catalog data. Compare the original and revised versions line by line, paying special attention to units, model numbers, quantities, and words such as “waterproof,” “universal,” or “guaranteed.” Then read the description alongside its title, variant selector, images, and delivery information. Does “set” clearly identify the number of pieces? Does the selected size match the copy? Leave essential limitations near the relevant benefit instead of burying them beneath promotional text.
