Who this is for
For job seekers revising an AI-assisted resume, career changers translating transferable experience, and professionals whose accomplishments need clearer wording rather than bigger claims.
Replace polished generalities with evidence
Start with your summary and experience bullets. Flag phrases that could describe almost anyone: “dynamic team player,” “proven track record,” and “leveraged innovative solutions.” Replace them with the work performed, its scope, and an outcome only when that outcome is documented. A useful bullet usually answers: What did you do, for whom or what, and what changed? Not every bullet needs a percentage. A named deliverable, recurring responsibility, or supported team can provide credible detail. Keep distinctions such as “assisted,” “coordinated,” and “led”; stronger wording is not better if it changes your level of ownership.
Match the vacancy without rewriting your history
Read the job description alongside your draft and identify requirements your experience genuinely supports. Retain relevant terms such as “inventory reconciliation,” “SQL,” or “accounts payable” when they accurately describe your work. Do not substitute fashionable terminology for a skill you cannot demonstrate. For a career change, explain the connection through tasks: scheduling deliveries may show coordination experience, but it does not automatically establish program management expertise. Preserve official job titles and employment dates. If an internal title is unclear, add a truthful functional explanation rather than silently replacing it with a more senior title.
Use Professional mode, then verify every change
Submit a focused excerpt, such as your summary and one role, with instructions to preserve all facts, numbers, dates, technical terms, and ownership. Humanizely’s free allowance is 500 words per request; a longer resume can be reviewed in separate excerpts. Remove contact details and confidential employer information before submitting. Compare the revision against your source resume and supporting records. Check whether a team result has become an individual achievement or a responsibility has become an outcome. Finally, review the finished document’s headings, bullet formatting, and text extraction. A wording revision alone cannot establish applicant tracking system compatibility or guarantee an interview.
